EDE496 Advanced Ethics in Addictions Counseling

Prepares substance use healthcare workers for ethical decision making in settings that serve substance using clients (e.g., medical, community mental health) throughout varying levels of care (e.g., residential inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient). Describes the meaning of ethically competent practice, and provides an overview of how they can provide substance use treatment services in an ethical manner. Utilizes peer-reviewed journal articles, professional codes of ethical conduct, and other forms of media to achieve this goal.
